The purpose of this site is to provide practical information on solar energy and energy efficiency. Whether you're designing or building a new home or need more information on solar water heating or heating a swimming pool we hope you find this information helpful. Our monthly meetings are typically held on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00pm in the UTEP campus room 205 of the classroom building, next to the engineering building. September Meeting will be at the El Paso Zoo! To celebrate and talk about solar in the new exhibit, we will have the zoo’s Rick Lobello give a tour of the new facilities. We will also be discussing ideas on how the zoo can best demonstrate solar energy in the wild outpost. We will be meeting earlier at 6:30 PM to take advantage of the daylight to tour the facilities. If you are coming from Downtown El Paso traveling on Paisano,the El Paso Zoo entrance will be on the left as you pass Chamizal National Memorial and go under the freeway underpass. City Tour for Solar is coming to town! Celebrate the solar equinox and our 30th anniversay with the City Tour for Solar! They will visit our area and showcase how solar can answer our energy challenges. It will stop in Las Cruces from Sep18-19 at NMSU and at Insights in El Paso Sep 20-21st. and recycle. The El Paso Solar Energy Association (EPSEA) was founded in 1978 and is the oldest, continuously active, local solar organization in the United States. EPSEA publishes a monthly newsletter on solar energy and EPSEA activities. The purpose of EPSEA is to further the development and application of solar energy and related technologies with concern for ecologic, social and economic fabric of the region (West Texas, Southern New Mexico, Northern Mexico). In addition to monthly meetings/seminars, EPSEA conducts technology demonstrations, information booths, and conducts project development work related to renewable energy technologies in the Southwest U.S. and Northern Mexico. EPSEA is a Chapter Member of the Texas State Solar Energy Society, of the American Solar Energy Society. EPSEA is a registered nonprofit 501 (c) (3)
